The Truth About Volume

I'm going to say it. Volume lashes will damage your natural lashes over time.

The fact is, your eyelashes are not designed to hold weight. They simply aren't. Most lash artists will tell you that there is no damage at all if they are applied correctly and taken care of. Why? They are taught this in every training course ever. Volume and mega volume also cost more for both full sets and fills. It's in a lash artist's favor to say this, as you can see.

Most people won't experience eyelashes falling out and weakening after one set, two sets, maybe even three sets. But continuously wearing volume lashes will have an effect over time. I promise you.

Some other things to bear in mind-more lashes can lead to more problems. Your risk of infection and irritation is multiplied.

What can you do when you love a full look? Don't worry, all hope is not lost. Take breaks every 6-9 months. Find a lash serum that actually works. Switch to classic or even hybrid for a few months.

A retained, happy client is the best client. I will not hesitate to give you my honest opinion about whether you can handle a certain volume or whether you need to take a break. I would rather continue to give you beautiful lashes for years to come then you have you feel misled and have a negative experience.

For mega volume sets, I do require a consultation before I agree to lash. Your natural lashes need to be healthy enough to handle the extra weight and stress, and your homecare needs to be dialed in.

All this being said, enjoy that thick, full look, but remember to take into consideration that your lashes have a growth cycle just like the hair on your head, and damage to the hair follicles can have long lasting effects if ignored.
